Being as it's a sweater vest, I was expecting it to be just a little thicker than it is. However, it's light weight makes it perfect for travel, which is exactly what I purchased it for. Visually, it looks oversized until you actually put it on, at which point you'll find the sizing is actually accurate.
As thin as it is, I would recommend it for Spring/Autumn, or on a Summer night if you're out star gazing. I wouldn't recommend it without a jacket during the Winter, however. Being as it's 100% cotton, it can soak up water similar to a tee-shirt. The picture shown is exactly what it looks like. I would recommend wearing this over a Gildan 6.5 oz. Ultra Cotton Pique Long-Sleeve Polo.
